We’re so pleased to have Dr. Kimberly A. Farinella, Ph.D., CCC-SLP, join us at Jenny’s Clinic. Kim will be a university-level advisor to us, ensuring we are current in speech pathology best practices.
Kim is Clinical Associate Professor in the Department of Communication Sciences and Disorders at Northern Arizona University. Prior to becoming the Clinic Director at the NAU Speech-Language-Hearing Clinic, she worked as a school-based speech-language pathologist for Alter Valley School District and Tucson Unified School District. She received the 2006 Editor’s Award, Language, Speech, and Hearing Services in the Schools. And – she’s won a couple of tennis medals at Reffkin Tennis Center in Tucson!
Her expertise is in working with children with severe speech sound disorders, especially those with childhood apraxia of speech (CAS). She specializes in helping young, non-verbal children acquire the necessary motor planning/programming skills to become successful “talkers.”
In her advisory role with Jenny’s Clinic, Kim will regularly review patient charts and our treatment protocols and make suggestions for improvement where needed. She will also provide continuing education training for our staff.
Welcome Kim!
